Christian Education
The academic programs at North Shore Christian School are rooted in our Christian World View and are supported and driven by having a society, faculty and Board of Directors committed to God and to the stated mission of the school.
North Shore Christian School will strive to always meet or exceed the educational needs of our students with academic programs and the physical facilities at the school. To achieve this commitment, we endeavor to improve the quality and size of our physical operation to create a better learning and teaching atmosphere.
The hiring of teachers will be done with emphasis on educational expertise, and commitment to Christian education. We will hire teachers of the highest caliber who seek to minister in our nurturing Christian environment. We will offer these teachers competitive remuneration for a private school.
Spiritual Life
We are a society made up of individuals who have a personal faith in Jesus Christ and are connected to local churches. As a group of Christians ministering together in the context of North Shore Christian School, we seek oneness with God through Christ, unity with each other, and service to our surrounding world.
Family
The Christian education and discipleship of children is the responsibility of the family and North Shore Christian School will be a resource to help accomplish this. We will encourage each family to be active in a local, biblically-based body of Christ for fellowship and instruction. We will actively communicate with the caregivers of our students to help facilitate their child's academic progress and spiritual growth, while encouraging activity in the local church. At the same time, the parents of our students are expected to communicate with the school administration and faculty, be supportive of the school's mission and rules, understand their child's needs and academic responsibilities, and maintain their financial responsibility to the school.
Church
North Shore Christian School is not, nor does it wish to function as, a church. The school is an educational ministry that serves the community and Kingdom of God. We endeavor to reach out and communicate with the local bodies of Christ in Lynn and the surrounding communities so that they are aware of the opportunities at North Shore Christian School. We look to cultivate relationships with pastors and ministries in our community, across denominational and racial spectrums.
Society
The society, as dictated by our by-laws, is the voting members of our constitutional body. We endeavor to have a society that not only espouses the statement of faith, but also is a group of people who individually have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and are active in local churches. The society will promote the mission of the school, be active in the governance of the school by staffing the boards and committees, be supportive and knowledgeable about the work going on in the classroom, will attend school functions and society meetings, and will be financially supportive. We pray that the ministry of the Holy Spirit will lead us to worship, study the Scriptures, manifest the fruit of the Spirit and pray individually and corporately for the ministry of the school. We want love and humility to govern our dealings with one another.
Community
In our dealings with the community of greater Lynn, we endeavor to be a witness to Christ in our speech and actions. In partnership with local churches and evangelical ministries, we will seek opportunities for our students to serve Christ and minister to those in need. We seek to be a good neighbor to our local Wyoma Square area and our abutters. At the same time, we will seek to become knowledgeable about Lynn and the surrounding communities: spiritually, socially, geographically, culturally and historically.
