Dedicated Faculty
The faculty at North Shore Christian School are well educated and professionally prepared. NSCS teachers are intellectually curious, committed Christians dedicated to challenging
and nurturing their student's thinking and to equip them to serve God in their communities. As Christian teachers, we recognize that we are called to serve with excellence in the name of Christ and we strive to teach our students to live out their faith and impact our world for Jesus Christ.
Academics
The Middle School curriculum is comprised of challenging and stimulating courses in these areas: Arts, Christian Studies, Foreign language, History and Geography,
Literature, Mathematics, physical Education, and Science. Detailed descriptions of the courses in grades 6-8 are available by request in the Admissions office.
Sports
The sports program provides opportunities to build physical skills, self-confidence and overall fitness while teaching sportsmanship and teamwork. Our Middle School
students may choose to participate in soccer or basketball.
Co-Curricular Activities
Some of the activities that we offer to enhance the middle school experience are Theatre Workshop, Yearbook Staff, Student Council, Math Team and School Newspaper.
Wilderness Trip
NSCS 7th and 8th graders begin their school year with a highly anticipated week long Wilderness Trip in the mountains of New Hampshire. This trip creates unity among the
class, encourages servanthood and develops leadership. It also provides an environment in which students can put their faith into action. Through experiential learning,
students understand more fully the meaning of Christian community. They are challenged individually and as a group, physically, spiritually, and mentally, through
activities normally not available to us in a classroom setting. The activities offer a safe place to build Christian character, confidence, resourcefulness and creativity,
in the context of group problem solving activities.
Washington D.C. - Philadelphia
In the spring each year the 7th and 8th graders go on a four-day trip, the destination alternating between Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. This trip enriches the history
curriculum by visiting museums and sites that have historical and cultural significance. The highlights of the trip are visits to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
and the Museum of the American Indian – topics which are covered in our curriculum.
