Todd McMillan serves as our middle school social studies teacher and the athletic director for the middle school soccer and basketball programs. He graduated from Covenant College with a BA in History and received his Master's in Education from Gordon College. Mr. McMillan taught previously at Beacon Christian School and, prior to that, at The American School of Lyon, France. What does he like best about being at North Shore Christian? "Everyday is different. Work is challenging, but never boring. It is rewarding to see middle school students interested in history and social studies. The more I get to teach, the more I learn too." He and his wife, Kate, have two children, Jade and Oliver.
Language Arts / Humanities
Alexia Beaulieu is in her 5th year as our Middle School Language Arts Teacher. Mrs. Beaulieu graduated from Salem State University with a BA in English and minored in Educational Studies. Currently, she is the Student Council Advisor of the Middle School and was formerly the Girls Basketball coach. Mrs. Beaulieu moved to New Hampshire last spring and continues to commute an hour each way because she believes that NSCS is a wonderful school. Speaking freely about the Lord and being a positive example to her students are among the many things she loves about working here.
Heather Behrens is the Middle school science teacher. She received her MS in Ecology from the University of California at Davis. Mrs. Behrens' science classes are taught from the perspective that hands-on discovery and on-campus field work provide the richest learning environment for all students. Scientific challenges are combined with self-discovery, purposely directing her students towards a deeper trust in our Creator/Savior. She notes, "Together with my students, I learn and discover more about the natural world around us: microscopic life, the physical laws governing our world, and the complexity of the human body!" Mrs. Behrens also leads the middle school ministry (ROCK) team which meets weekly to stretch the students' faith and do good works both locally and worldwide!
Dave Sawyer, who has taught middle school mathematics for more than 35 years, joined our staff in 2002. Since then, his background in mathematics education and his ample experience, have helped produce an exemplary program for 7th grade math and 8th grade Algebra students. His work as Math Team Coordinator has enriched the experience of middle school students and encouraged unique success that has been noted by parents of many alumni.
Terri Ronquillo is in her third year as our middle school Spanish teacher. She is a first generation Mexican-American and brings the Spanish language to life for her students.
