Board Member since 2021 – Monique Reese has found numerous ways to combine her passion for creativity and her heart for children. She has served in children’s ministry in various roles through the decades and currently serves as a Children’s Ministries Leader at her church, Danvers Church of the Nazarene. She has also co-coordinated the church’s Vacation Bible School and other sought-after “kid-centric events.”
Born and raised in upstate New York, Monique graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Monique has “always felt called to help people in pain, whether emotional or physical.” While working toward a master’s degree in clinical health psychology, Monique says God led her to change paths and pursue a natural health career. She is a licensed massage therapist, specializing in Myofascial Release. She is also certified to facilitate JourneyDance, “a healing modality that allows people to get out of their minds and into their bodies.” She has been able to use these modalities in ways that are God-honoring and provide children and adults with unique tools to draw closer to Jesus.
Monique is married to her high school sweetheart, Brian, and they have been blessed with a six-year-old son, Brevyn. The family discovered NSCS when looking for a preschool for Brevyn in 2017. From the first interview, the whole family fell in love with the School. Brevyn began attending the Beverly campus the next fall, and, when asked if he wanted to continue at NSCS for kindergarten, said, “I will keep going until there are no more grades for me to go to there!”
Monique especially loves being a part of her son’s school world. “From the beginning, I have appreciated how the teachers and staff made that possible,” she shares, “incredibly, even through a pandemic!”
Monique is excited to use her creativity and passion for children, themes, and events to enhance “NSCS’s already-outstanding educational programs.”
