March is an exciting month for us at North Shore Christian School/Beverly Campus. We dedicate an entire month to raising awareness for missions; locally, nationally and globally. We call it March into Missions. It is based on the Scripture form Acts1:8 –
“And you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth. Acts 1:8.
I have explained to our students what it means to be a witness and that Jesus wants us to witnesses in our own location (Beverly) and beyond…to our state, our country and the world. We have had our students involved in various outreaches during this month that have ranged from supplying local food pantries and homeless ministries to sending shoe boxes to Haiti and school supplies to a struggling Christian school in Pakistan. It is exciting to watch these children become more and more sensitive to those who are in need of the gospel and the love of Christ whether they live in Beverly or the uttermost parts of the earth. Our month culminates with a wonderful International Luncheon where the families in our school that represent many nations, cook an ethnic dish for us to savor as we pray in approximately nine different languages before we enjoy our meal. Tables are set up to represent a country and many of the parents come dressed in native garb. So, if you’re in the area during the month if March, join us for a special chapel or come on the 28th at noon and eat with us and be amazed at God’s heart for the nations!
